Few things make me happier than the start of fall. I live for all the back-to-school nostalgia (despite graduating from college nearly a decade ago) and the return of my favorite pumpkin snacks. Most of all, I can’t wait to say goodbye to shorts and tank tops and hello to all the new and classic fall fashion trends – and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

If falling was a personality trait, I would add it to my list. Every year, I dedicate a day to transitioning my wardrobe. I sip some warm PSL as I put away my warm clothes and try on all the sweaters, cardigans and boots I own in anticipation of the many ways I’ll be wearing them in the months to come.

This year, after saying hello to my familiar friends, I’ll be evaluating the gaps in my seasonal wardrobe, considering which Fall 2022 trends I’ll want to add to my rotation. There were so many big predictions on the runway this year, with designers showcasing unique knits and statement-making embellishments (sequins, in particular, ruled the runway), maximalist prints (think animals and flowers in your face) and bold color options. (Barbie Pink will still be in play). However, Fashion Week isn’t the only place where I get inspired to re-evaluate my wardrobe. I flock to Pinterest and Instagram and, being the fashion writer that I am, I also reach out to stylists for their recommendations.
